YouX
adaptive interfaces
Currently, generative AI tools like ChatGPT are enabling a personalized user experience, tailoring information to the user’s queries. Despite this, creative softwares for photo editing remain complex and feature dense, posing as a barrier for first time users. How might this level of personalization extend to creative tools?
YouX introduces a generative interface that adapts to the user’s objectives, streamlining the creative process, and facilitating a more goal-oriented editing experience. Simply prompt YouX with the changes you’d like to make, and interface blocks are generated, enabling you to achieve the visual result you desire.

The YouX framework could be used for creative applications beyond photo editing to include things like 3d visualization, video editing, and 3d modeling. This new era of generative AI has the potential to radically shift how we work as designers and creatives. As technologies continue to develop, we must create new tools that are ethical to the creative process, empowering to new and old users alike, and enchanting to collaborate with.
Design Process
This project stemmed from a dissatisfaction with existing creative tools and the restricted control in generative AI systems. Creatives, when stumped on a task within a software, typically resort to Google or, if fortunate, a YouTube tutorial. Instead of hunting for the correct button, envision a scenario where the user could pose a question directly to the tool. This dialogue could demystify software limitations, empowering users with the know-how for future tasks. On another note, while AI offers personalized answers, its text-based format can be daunting. To learn more about this, I delved into analyzing various creative software and generative AI tools, mapping out the user journey in each.
